Tell Congress to Protect the Civil Rights of Students of Color

As we know, the pandemic disproportionately harmed students of color and other marginalized students. To make matters worse, under Secretary DeVos, the Department of Education cut funding for the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) and rescinded Obama-era guidance designed to reduce school discipline disparities.

As the country grapples with a long-overdue reckoning with racism and white supremacy, let’s make sure that the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights has the funding it needs to prevent and respond to the discrimination that harms our children.
